Crystal II a Fred Shepherd design, built in 1927 at the yard of A.M.Dickie of Tarbett, Scotland. The original Crystal was designed as a Gaff Yawl but it is thought that Crystal II was actually rigged as a Bermudian Yawl from new. She is stood on her own custom built cradle in a light, airy dry workshop, 2 minutes from the nearest rail station…

She has a carvel teak constructed hull all copper fastened to Rock Elm steamed frames and silicon bronze fastened into grown oak timbers. Deadwood of oak and an elm keelson, cast iron ballast keel.
Open Aft Cockpit. Headroom below of 6ft ,the interior is nearly all original with the exception of the galley. Once lead lined surrounding it’s cooker and sink. Now all replaced with H&C water system and a new cooker both cleverly covered with drop down worktops when not in use.
Opposite is a full size chart table cabinet with drawers.
In the fore peak there is a large new stainless steel stowage bin for the new anchor chain replacing the pipe cots and fitting in new Heads. She offers two long wide settee berths in the saloon. The settee backs lift to give a little width on the berth ‘s.
She is a near completed project. Her owner passed away in April 2017, to see the culmination of all his hard work and hours of love put into Crystal II. She and her inventory, are stored in a light industrial unit, she will come to no harm but so needs finishing and putting back in to the water.

An open deep aft open cockpit with fixed stowage seating , optional bolt on corner perches for the helms man. Tiller steering. Alarge lazerette loocker with Stainless gas locker.
engine controls are hidden under the starboard bench. Navigation gauges are visible the bulkhead for the helm. Double Stable door entrance into the cabin. The accommodation coach roof is cambered which in turns creates a saloon with headroon of 6ft plus below decks . The Brand new 16hp Beta Marine engine is installed under the companionway and cockpit.
Set of steps descend into the saloon,port is the newly fitted out galley with stainless steel sink hot and Cold pressurised system and a brand new cooker with induction hob and oven. The appliances are cleverly disguised when not in use.
Opposite is a full sized chart table with a set of 6 drawers. An observation light out to the helm. Forward two full length opposing settee berths. lifting back to enable a full width of berth when used for sleeping. Berth cushions all new textile covered un-used.Stowage cupboards and open shelving on both sides. There is a drop leaf dining table presently not on board.
