Hillyards had built boats from approx 1920, although building numbers were not allocated until after WW2 when the numbers commenced at 400.It is believed that as many as 800 boats ranging from 2.5 – 29 ton may have been built during the Boat yards lifetime.
Recent history and restoration work
Lilani had been lying ashore at Bucklers Hard for several years. Her full cover had finally disintegrated, time; having been out of the water had taken its toll on the old lady, she was in great need of a lot of TLC!
Lilani was purchased by Bucklers Hard Boat Builders Ltd, in 2004 as a project to be restored, during the quiet periods in the yard, hence the period of restoration time.
