35ft converted MFV with ketch rig.A very Traditional craft of timber on a timber frame, built by Weatherheads at Cockenzie in Scotland, 1931. A traditional design fishing type vessel.Very robust with good sea going qualities.
A long straight keel, a fairly full bilge and a straight stem. Fitted with a canoe stern and straight stern post, an aft cockpit and a wheelhouse just ahead. The cabin top runs forward to the mast deck. Laid wooden decks.
The whole vessel has been pretty much been rebuilt, over several years, much of her planking having to be replaced, the whole deck, a new stem and stern. She was a very tired ship and in this her present ownership she has been given a new life and will be good now for the next 50 years. She doesn’t actually want for anything other than to be used and continually looked after and maintained.
She is in full commission having already done a couple of passages over to the near continent this season.
The vessel is ketch rigged with the main mast stepped on the cabin top, keeping the decks clear. The mizzen is stepped in the cockpit. Fitted with a BMC Commadore diesel engine.
Carvel built with wooden decks, sealed with caulking cotton and Oakham. A good proportion of new planking, sections of the keel and stem were replaced. Two new bilge keels were fitted. good photographic record of the work. Some internal wood work was carried out and she is now in very good condition.
The accommodation has all been re-built, in T & G. Hard wood, and most of it has a varnished finish. The floor boards are in plywood, and fully carpeted throughout. The cushions are all foam, with loose cloth covers.
The galley is fitted with a four burner hob, along with a grill and cooker, this is a modern stainless steel stove, bolted down solid. An electric fridge, and a stainless steel sink. While the toilet compartment is fitted with an electric toilet, and a washbasin.
There is a ‘MIKUNI’ oil fired warm air heater fitted.
