1976 Cape Dory 28 ‘Liberty’ For Sale: $12,900/obo
There isn’t another Cape Dory 28 on the market anywhere that has as beautiful interior as Liberty has. I spoke to the original owner, who sailed her extensively around the Caribbean and Virgin Islands, and he told me that he hired a woodworker in the Caribbean over 2 years to complete the custom interior woodwork and it shows!
She is full keeled and build very heavily for blue water sailing.
I have lived aboard for the past 5 years, and since her hull and deck are so stout, heating in the winter wasn’t much of a problem.
This is certainly one of the most if not the most economical ways to live close to the city.
Perhaps one of the greatest benefits of Liberty Landing Marina is the free parking included (2 spaces).
I’m in the process of finishing the exterior woodwork, and have 2 coats so far…looking more and more beautiful!
Universal 25XP runs like a top, and I replaced the original Hurth transmission with a brand new Twin Disc TMC40 and she runs and sounds great!
She’s up on the hard right now awaiting bottom paint and a few other things.
