Loddon Lily is a beautiful 51ft narrow boat, built 1984, with full survey from Sally Narrowboats, April 2019, that was (before 2012) designed to be in a marina and was not a live aboard. Since then she has been fully done up making her fit for continuous cruising. One of the major changes was to re-wire the boat to ensure it could run off a set of leisure batteries, thus meaning the boat was re-wired in 2012. This also included some high output solar panels, that were also wired in and are still incredibly effective and giving a trickle feed to the two leisure batteries that are currently on the boat. The batteries have been replaced every two to three years since then and the current ones were bought for approx. £350 in early 2018. Loddon Lily is an exceptionally ‘easy’ boat to run, she is made by Peter Nichols, which is a very well expected boat builder, she was made on the Loddon a tributary of the Thames River and where Loddon Lily’s grow explaining her name. It is very rare for a boat builder to also design the inside of a boat, however in Lilys’ instance Peter designed the entire lay out since which is why it is so effective with such an abundance of storage with all important drop down table and hidden bar! The Engine has been serviced every year without fail. The engine was remounted to the bottom of the boat by a fully qualified boat engineer in 2015. She has been been out of the water three times in the last seven years and received three coats of bitchumen and had the anodes replacing each time (except the last, the anodes did not need replacing according to Sally Narrowboats). New 700W Invertor – this transfer the 12V to 240V so you can use normal appliances, plus sockets were installed throughout the boat and all are working. All lights were changed to LED strip lighting in the front half of the boat in 2012, the bedroom lights were then replaced with LED spot lights in 2016. Brand new kitchen installed in 2018. Inclusive of: Armitage Shanks Butler sink, chrome mixer tap, farrow and ball painted cupboards, thick slate tiling on both work surface and splash back, brand new free standing gas cooker with separate grill. During this fit out, a corgi registered gas engineer re-plumbed the gas, all tubes were changed and reconnected, 2018. A made to measure shelf unit was also made by a local carpenter to fit next to the fridge. A new high powered water pump was also installed in 2018, this allows the water to pump from the two 150 Litre Water Tank, Flat X (currently being installed) under front deck to the bathroom, kitchen and shower taps. In Jan 2019 the boat was painted in Farrow & Ball paint covering the yellow pine wood with a natural white, same applied on the bottom half of the bedroom walls, a year ago. With the table/bar painted in light grey. Mattress coming with the boat is £750 Comfort Soft comfort anti-damp mattress and comes with a John Lewis duck down feather mattress topper £200. The loo is a Thetford Porta Potti Excellence, it is the top of the range one, as this is circular and higher than the more squat rectangular ones and comes with one cassette The flu to the burner was replaced by an engineer in 2016 The burner had a complete service in Dec 2018, and the flu was taken out and re-attached by a stove specialist. Behind the grate was also slate tiled with the same slate later used in the kitchen. The book shelf was made and installed by a local carpenter in 2014 Brand new made to measure curtains in March 2019 for the resale of the boat. In 2013 the bedroom was kitted out with pink toile de jour fabric with handmade blinds and curtain for the French doors at the back of the boat. The blinds were made in the kitchen in 2015. The sign writing of the boat was re-painted last week by an local sign writing expert. A set of three drawers were bought and fitted in at the bottom of the bed. A brand new window was bought and fitted on the left hand side of the front, this was in excess of £1500 with installation. New bilge pump in both front and back deck bilges installed in summer of 2018. New shower water pump fitted in Feb 2019. LessNovember 28 at 7:13 AM · PublicSave
