RICHARD C. COLE LEISURE MARINE INNOVATOR

While still under wraps, we can reveal that some elements of the next concept boat from the AYB research unit, The Houseboat Centre, come from the prolific mind of one of our heroes, naval architect, Richard C. Cole.

“Engineer, adventurer and probably the designer of more outboard boats than any man alive – is this quiet courageous prophet of the future” Bill Bischoff. Pop. Boating

Born in London, Englishman Richard Cole invented the Cathedral hull, the Airslot hull and the Gullwing hull as well as designing the first production walk-around cuddy cabin.

His original design work can be seen in performance craft from  Coronet Boats, Woodson, Donzi, Regal, Galaxy and Nova.

We are delighted to say that Richard has been honoured with the Ole Evinrude Award for his contributions to the boating industry.
