Our Philosophy: Integrity Belongs to Individuals, Not Entities
The Association of Yacht Brokers (AYB) is the professional association dedicated exclusively to individual yacht brokers. Elite brokers view their practice not merely as sales, but as a high-stakes profession requiring specialized knowledge, ethical rigor, and personal accountability.
While traditional trade associations represent corporate entities, AYB recognizes a fundamental truth: integrity is a personal human attribute. A legal entity, subject to shifting leadership and changing personnel, cannot possess ethical character. True integrity belongs to the individual broker whose word, experience, and reputation stand behind every transaction.
Strict Eligibility: Protecting Client Interests
To maintain absolute independence and eliminate conflicts of interest, AYB enforces strict membership criteria.
- Individual Brokers Only: Membership is granted solely to qualified individual yacht brokers. Corporate memberships are strictly prohibited.
- Zero Conflict Policy: Companies, dealerships, marine surveyors, insurers, and charter brokers are ineligible for membership.
By excluding entities with competing business models, AYB ensures an uncompromising focus on the specific duties, ethical challenges, and professional needs of yacht brokers.
Professional Development & Certification
Standing still is not an option for elite professionals. AYB equips its members with the tools to lead the market through a full, structured Continuing Professional Development (CPD) framework.
All AYB Certified Professionals complete rigorous, specialized coursework tailored explicitly to the nuances of yacht brokerage, including:

Companies, surveyors, and underwriters that demonstrate an exceptional standard of quality and service may apply to sponsor AYB. All corporate sponsors are subject to strict vetting and board approval to ensure their values align with our commitment to excellence.
Brokerage companies may negotiate company-wide discounts on behalf of their individual yacht brokers, but each must apply separately on their own merits.
